Frequently Asked Questions
- Typical tapes leave behind a sticky residue that must be removed from the flange face before final install, our Blast Guard product is backed with an extremely high tack adhesive that leaves no residue behind.
- Taping and cutting by hand can result in inadequate coverage, flange damage, increased prep time, increased overtime, and injury.
- Our Blast Guard products are cut by CNC machine with accuracy up to 1/1,000th of an inch. They are precicely cut to fit your specific pipe size, every time.
- A Blast Guard stays on the flange from blasting, to painting, to baking, to shipping. Typical tapes are lucky to make it through one or two of these stages.

A Blast Guard is precisely cut to its respective Nominal Pipe Size (NPS). For a given NPS, the outer diameter stays the same regardless of shedule or class change. For example, a standard 2" Blast Guard will cover the flange face of a 2" #150 or 2" #900 flange.
For all Armor, both the Nominal Pipe Size (NPS) and Pressure Class must be clarified. As Armor covers the full face of the flange, its size increases with both the NPS and Pressure Class. For example: a 12" #150 Armor is not the same as a 12" #600.
